This construction project involved the installation of approximately 10 miles of raw water collection main, linking each of the city's wells to a common main. Then, bringing that water to a newly constructed water treatment plant. This allows the city to collect and treat all of their water for consumer use in one state of the art location.
This project incorporated multiple facets of underground construction expertise, including the use of directional boring, auger boring, pilot tube boring and open cut trench methods. The project scope included industrial, park district, residential, downtown and commercial areas — as well as the DuPage Airport and its surrounding areas.
Trine Construction coordinated all restorative efforts with its subcontractors and minimized disruption to the affected areas during the project duration.
The efficient speed of completion and minimal disruption to businesses, residents and the motoring public contributed to the success of this project. The end product: a complete water system for a town with over 30,000 residents, and the first complete comprehensive undertaking of a construction project of this nature in the state of Illinois!
